2008 Marketing Plans & Goals
It's hard to believe there are only a few days remaining in 2007.  This past year, I felt as if I was always two weeks behind where I needed to be with our 2007 marketing activities.  I was always running to catch up to the calendar.  Time flew by, and before I knew it, the Holidays were here and I was wondering where the year went.  Since this is the season for setting goals, I thought I'd share some of my personal and professional goals for 2008.

Goal #1 - Have a Defined Marketing Plan
A goal of mine for the coming year is to be more disciplined with our marketing plans.  It's easy to focus on putting out the many daily fires of a business and forget to work on the important, ongoing marketing activities that keep a business healthy and strong.  Since these marketing tasks won't happen on their own, I'll need to put together a detailed 2008 calendar.  Although it will be time-consuming to create, a detailed marketing plan could save us a lot of time and effort in the coming months.  Plus, it will help to keep me from feeling as if I'm always two weeks behind schedule.

Goal #2 - Enjoy Each Moment
Another personal goal of mine for 2008 is to enjoy my life.  I tend to get caught up in daily tasks and forget to focus on the moment.  What's the point of working so hard if it makes me unhappy or stressed?   So, starting now, (before the New Year) I plan to focus on enjoying each and every minute of my life.  Sure there will still be stressful moments, but we can control how we manage those situations.  A positive outlook will help both myself and my business to be happier and healthier.

Can my goals of being more organized and enjoying each moment co-exist?  Absolutely.  In fact, it's likely that my pre-planned marketing calendar will help to relieve some stress and uncertainty in my life - making it easier for me to relax and enjoy the moment.

Now it's time for me to stop writing and get started on that calendar.  I wish you the best of luck with your goals, and hope you and your family have a happy and prosperous new year.

Happy New Year!
